Venue
The conference venue is “Le Ciminiere” Exhibition & Congress Centre in Catania, a unique example of industrial archaeology located in the former area of the city’s sulfur refineries, near the railway station and the port.
Following the decline of the industrial activity after World War II, the site was restored and converted into a modern multifunctional complex that today covers approximately 25,000 square meters, divided into three integrated areas dedicated to trade fairs, exhibitions, and congress activities, while preserving the historic brick chimneys as a visible testimony of its past.
The Scientific Program of EXRS 2026 will take place in Hall C1, a large auditorium with a lower section of about 600 seats and an upper gallery that brings the total capacity to 1,200 seats, suitable for Opening/Plenary Lectures and Oral Communications. Parallel sessions will be hosted in Hall C2, a room with about 200 seats available for Keynote Lectures and Oral Communications. Poster sessions will be hosted in a dedicated area of Hall C1. Coffee breaks and lunch breaks will be served in Hall C3 and in adjacent areas equipped with buffet stations, quick-service points, and a sufficient number of tables to accommodate participants.
