How to reach Catania

The best way to reach Catania is by plane. The Catania–Fontanarossa International Airport “Vincenzo Bellini” (CTA) is located about 6 km south of the city center and receives numerous domestic and international flights every day from major European hubs.
The airport is well connected to downtown Catania. 

By Bus or Train

• Alibus: Direct bus service connecting Catania Airport with Stazione Centrale (Central Train Station) every 25 minutes.

  • Travel time: ~25 minutes

  • Fare: €4 one-way

  • Tickets available on board or via the AMTS Catania app.

• Train: The Fontanarossa Railway Station is connected to the airport by a short shuttle (5 min). Regional trains reach Stazione Centrale (Central Train Station) in ~10 minutes.

From Stazione Centrale (Central Train Station)), Le Ciminiere is just a 5-minute walk.

By Taxi

Official city taxis are white, marked with the “TAXI” sign and a license number on the doors and inside the vehicle.
They are available outside the Arrivals Terminal.

• Travel time: approx. 20 minutes

• Fare: €30–€50 (depending on traffic and destination)

It is recommended to contact Radio Taxi at +39 095 8833 directly from the airport, rather than using the taxis waiting outside the Arrivals Terminal. This option ensures a reliable service and a fixed fare of €25 for transfers to the EXRS2026 venue

 

By Car

Le Ciminiere has on-site parking facilities and several public parking areas nearby.
Average cost: €1.50 per hour, with daily rates available.

By Shuttle Service

A paid shuttle service from Catania Airport to your hotel (and return) will be available through the EXRS2026 secretariat.
